Candiani Denim won ITMA Sustainable Innovation Award in the category of Industry Excellence Award! The awarded project was Candiani Custom, nominated by one of the partners who collaborated in its creation, FKgroup, a leading company in technological solutions for the cutting room. We won this important award for the second time in a row – in 2019, it happened with ReGen.
Candiani Custom was awarded ITMA Sustainable Innovation Award 2023
ITMA Sustainable Innovation Award was launched in 2015 by CEMATEX, the European Committee of Textile Machinery Manufacturers, to award the collective efforts of the whole textile and garment value chain to create innovative sustainable products and promote research. It is bestowed during ITMA, the world's most influential textile and garment technology exhibition, which takes place every four years. In 2023, ITMA was in Milan.
Our Candiani Custom project won this important award in 2023, while in 2019, our ReGen fabric, made of 50% of recycled cotton from our production waste and 50% of TENCEL™ x REFIBRA™, was awarded. ReGen contains only regenerated raw materials and has pioneered recycled denim.
Candiani Custom was nominated by FKgroup, a leader in cutting solutions
Candiani Custom is the first urban micro-factory to produce custom jeans and condenses an industrial process in the tiny space of a boutique, thanks to the most progressive technologies in the textile and manufacturing industries. All the garments, made with the most sustainable Candiani Denim fabrics, are cut, sewed, processed, and washed on-site by an experienced team in a reshoring project that gathers under one roof in Milan all the steps of a value chain which is usually fragmented.
Each garment is made only on demand to eliminate overproduction. The experience is engaging, and the client becomes a designer and chooses all the details of their jean.
Candiani Custom was possible thanks to the collaboration with ten renowned Italian partners, located in only 238 km: FKgroup, Manifattura Italiana Cucirini, Tonello, Nearchimica, Cervotessile, Riri Group, Okinawa Operations, Rotondi Group, Cadica Group, and SIP Italy Sewing. FKgroup, which nominated our project at ITMA, developed an exclusive cutting table that reduces CO2 emissions by almost 70%.
