On Friday, September 23, 2022, on the occasion of White Sustainable Market, Simon Giuliani, Global Marketing Director of Candiani Denim, presented our technology COREVA™ to create sustainable jeans during the talk Smart materials as new solutions for fashion, in the scope of Circular Stage supported by the Ministry of Ecological Transition and created in collaboration with Wired, C.L.A.S.S. Ecohub, and Cittàdellarte Fondazione Pistoletto.

Smart materials for sustainable fashion

Alongside Simon Giuliani, Stefano Babbini, Environmental Engineer, CEO and Co-founder of SQIM Technology Holding of MOGU & EPHEA, Ali Schachtschneider, Head Strategist of Spiber Sustainable Textile Systems, Jeroen Muijsers, CEO of FLOCUS, and Stefano Albini, President of Cotonificio Albini Group explained their experience in developing new materials for sustainable fashion. Giusy Bettoni, CEO and Founder of C.L.A.S.S., was the moderator.

The talk's goal was to have a clear view, provided directly by some textile industry experts, of some of the most innovative materials recently invented to support sustainability in the fashion industry. The available information, especially to consumers, is often scarce or incorrect.

Sustainable clothing created using COREVA™ stretch technology

Simon Giuliani described the birth of COREVA™, the world’s first 100% biodegradable and compostable stretch denim. COREVA™ fabrics are composed of a natural rubber core where organic cotton wraps and do not contain plastics or microplastics. The aesthetics, durability, and quality of the products are not compromised. Never during its production process or its lifecycle do COREVA™ sustainable clothing releases harmful substances into the environment.

Thanks to COREVA™ stretch technology, patented by Candiani Denim, we are one step closer to an entirely circular model: raw materials are used to manufacture fabrics, and later garments that, once disposed of, can return to nature and become fertilizers to grow new raw materials, having a positive impact on the planet.
