On Thursday, October 6, 2022, the French brand Patine and Candiani Denim gathered at Patine’s new studio in Paris to celebrate the launch of the brand’s Donna collection: jeans and shirts made with the innovative COREVA™ stretch technology that enabled us to create the first biodegradable and compostable stretch denim.

Patine makes sustainable clothing essentials for the modern wardrobe

Charlotte Dereux founded Patine in 2017, aiming to create a new standard in the fashion industry. She wanted to combine desirable and sustainable features to offer consumers a series of sustainable clothing essentials for the modern wardrobe influenced by ’80s and ’90s trends complying with the highest environmental standards.

Patine’s idea is to provide its customers with easy-to-wear (with a smile) garments, maximizing their quality so they can last longer and reduce their impact on the planet. Its items are produced in France, Italy, and Portugal in order to maintain their carbon emissions in a certain range. Its team works hard on materials to find the best ones following criteria such as local and responsible production, comfort, durability, and, of course, aesthetics.

Patine’s items are available only online on the brand’s website. Patine donates a part of its proceeds to La Cravate Solidaire, focusing on equal opportunities and the reintegration of people living in precarious conditions.

Patine’s Donna collection is made with organic cotton and COREVA™

Patine and Candiani Denim have worked together for five years to bring the Donna collection to life. Its garments are composed of GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) organic cotton and COREVA™, which replaces the traditional synthetic and petrol-based materials used in stretch jeans with a plant-based stretch yarn from natural rubber without compromising the elasticity, physical qualities, and durability of the garments. The fabric made with COREVA™ is the first biodegradable and compostable stretch denim worldwide. Patine’s Donna collection features comfortable and sexy jeans and shirts made in Portugal.
