Cradle to Cradle Certified® products comply with the ideal standard for the creation of circular and compostable goods defined by Cradle to Cradle. Cradle to Cradle Certified® means that a product is safe, circular, and responsibly made and is a globally recognized indicator of sustainability.
The Cradle to Cradle Product Standard ensures a positive impact on the environment
The Cradle to Cradle product standard ensures that products have a positive impact on the environment and the community. For over a decade, Cradle to Cradle Certified® has helped companies innovate and optimize their offer keeping up with the most progressive science-based measures.
The Cradle to Cradle product standard evaluates an organization’s environmental and social performance across five categories: material health, product circularity, clean air and climate protection, water and soil stewardship, and social fairness.
The material health category ensures products contain chemicals that are as safe as possible for humans and the environment. Designers and product developers are led through a process of inventorying, assessing, and optimizing material chemistry.
The product circularity category aims to reduce waste, evaluating if products can remain in a perpetual cycle of use and reuse.
Clean air and climate protection
The clean air and climate protection category ensures products are manufactured using renewable energy, reducing or eliminating their climate-changing greenhouse gas emissions.
Water and soil stewardship
The water and soil stewardship category ensures water is recognized as a valuable resource, watersheds are protected, clean water is available to people and all the other living beings, and healthy soils are safeguarded.
The social fairness category aims to design business operations that respect all the people and ecosystems affected by a product’s manufacturing process.
