#INNOVATORS
Nowadays, billions of garments are manufactured every year, and many of them are worn only a couple of times before being thrown out. Moreover, 71% of these garments are made with synthetic materials derived from fossil fuel, not only increasing pollution while they're being manufactured but also increasing the release of toxic substances in the environment when they're discarded.
COREVA™ is the only real alternative to synthetic fibres – a unique technology that allowed us to create the first compostable jeans in the world. In fact, lab tests prove that within months these denim jeans not only biodegrade but actually become compost, fertilising the soil. And this is only the beginning of our journey towards a completely regenerative denim fabric, whose components can be recycled and transformed into new denim fabric. Towards a world where discarded garments will have a positive impact on our planet.
While in the local butcher shop in Milan, Alberto Candiani noticed, behind the counter, a salami wrapped with a curious elasticized string. When he discovered that it was entirely natural, he asked himself, “Would this work to make denim?” Five years and thousands of hours of research later, the COREVA™ technology was born.
Proving compostability

Once the compostable properties of COREVA™ were confirmed, the soil was tested to determine if the disintegration of COREVA™ would have any harmful effects on plants and animals, technically referred to as ecotoxicity. This test was carried out using two different types of seeds: mung beans (Vigna radiata) and barley (Hordeum vulgare). They were planted in one pot filled with COREVA™ compost and in another pot filled with the control material compost. The results showed significantly better growth in COREVA™ compost as compared to the control material.

Made to last
The characteristics of COREVA ™ do not change over time. Even after years of use, you will always find the beauty, elasticity and softness you expect from quality jeans. When it comes to denim, we don't compromise.
100% Eco-compatible
COREVA ™ technology is truly circular. Raw materials become fabric, which, when it reaches its end of life, can return to nature without impacting the ecosystem, turning into compost and serving as a fertilizer for new raw materials.
Zero microplastics
Unlike conventional stretch fabrics, which owe their elasticity to elastane, a synthetic fossil fuel based material, COREVA ™ does not release microplastics throughout its life cycle.
