Selvedge fabrics are the most authentic and traditional types of denim, woven on shuttle looms. These machines were the industry standard until the 1960s, when they were largely replaced by more efficient full-width looms to meet the increasing demand for denim. Today, only a few mills continue to use shuttle looms. We take great pride in preserving the selvedge denim heritage, which has become rare in the industry but is highly valued by those who appreciate the tradition of jeans.
This classic 5-pocket, regular-fit jean features a straight leg that maintains a consistent length from the hip to the ankle. It offers both comfort and freedom of movement while presenting a balanced, clean look that flatters any body type and style. We provide this fabric in its raw state to highlight its natural beauty. As you wear the garment, the fabric will develop a unique look, fading over time as the upper indigo layer wears off. You’ll notice the selvedge on the inseam, which is why we recommend choosing a slightly longer hem length than what you usually select. This way, you can wear your jeans with cuffs.
Additionally, please be aware that these untreated raw jeans may shrink slightly after their first wash. If you’re accustomed to wearing raw denim, we recommend measuring your favorite pair of jeans to help you find your size in our size chart. If you’re uncertain about which size to choose, we suggest selecting one size larger.
