On June 5, 2025, the Secoli Fashion Show made its return to the runway at Talent Garden in Milan. This annual event highlights the values of Istituto Secoli and its community. Over 500 guests attended in person, while an equal number watched via livestream, applauding the students who, after completing their three-year training program, transformed their ideas into collections that reflect contemporary themes and envision the future.

“Thauma” rediscovers wonder and generates the unexpected

Thirty-one students participated in the 42nd edition of the highly anticipated fashion show. The young designers showcased their talent, dedication, and passion, demonstrating how their combination with proper training can lead to extraordinary creations in both style and technical design. This experience prepares them to become real professionals in the fashion world.

The theme for 2025, “Thauma | Projections of the unexpected,” united creativity and innovation, taking the audience on an unprecedented journey to rediscover the wonder that sparks astonishment and fosters the unexpected. Intuition and experience inspired creative expression, leading to new visions of contemporary fashion.

The students’ collections featured a blend of men’s and women’s fashion, ranging from sporty-technical aesthetics to elegant garments. This diversity highlighted their ability to create a complete wardrobe while interpreting current fashion trends.

The Designer to Watch project again opened the event, showcasing some of the most talented alumni from past years. They presented their first collections to the public, offering a glimpse into their aesthetic sense and identity.

Since 1934, Istituto Secoli has promoted the sartorial tradition and the culture of Italian craftsmanship, equipping students with solid technical methods. The school now stands as a symbol of international excellence in technical and applied design training, shaping future professionals for the most sought-after roles in the fashion industry.

“Perturbante” is made with Candiani fabrics

Once again, Candiani partnered with Istituto Secoli and its students by offering the opportunity to visit their production facility, experience textile products firsthand, and explore innovative fabrics and technologies.

We are proud to have contributed to the creation of the “Perturbante | Object as detachment” collection by providing our denim fabrics to the involved students. They also had the chance to work directly with our team at the development center and laundry facility at our headquarters in Robecchetto con Induno to achieve their desired finishing effects. Additionally, Lectra supported the collection’s creation with Vector®, their state-of-the-art solution for fabric cutting from single to multi-ply sheets.

The term “Perturbante” means unsettling and refers to “the disturbance caused by breaking familiarity and routine in reality.” It embodies a timeless flow and tumult that captivates individuals, leaving them feeling empty and distancing them from reality. This experience creates moments of tension and disorientation, where instinct takes precedence and pushes one toward the unknown, making contact with the new feel intense. Ultimately, the body and instinct merge again through breath, leading to a new physical and sensory experience that fully embraces wonder.

The students who brought this collection to life are Cinzia Carecchio, Samira Stamerra, Anna Paula Arreaga, Laura Zoppi, Jocelyne Copelli, and Maria Scaglione, who also received an award from Candiani, consisting of a supply of denim fabrics, for her outstanding work.

Matteo Secoli, president of Istituto Secoli, commented on Candiani’s participation: “Your invaluable support contributed to the realization of a highly valuable event, rich in technical and creative content, aimed at supporting young talents in fashion.”
