At the Candiani Custom micro-factory, we are excited to introduce our new made-to-measure palazzo jeans, named Simona. This women’s model is exclusively available at our store in Piazza Mentana, 3, Milan, and is inspired by one of the most popular fits of late, designed to flatter every body type and made in various denim types. We invite you to discover your perfect fabric and collaborate with us to create the jeans you have always dreamed of!

What makes palazzo jeans so appealing?

Palazzo jeans have become one of the most popular women’s styles in recent seasons. They offer an excellent option for creating a refined and curated look that is also comfortable and relaxed, all while maintaining the traditional versatility of denim. This fit features a leg that gently flows from the hips to the ankles, making it suitable for various body types and styles without being overly exaggerated in volume, geometry, or length.

In addition to comfort and flexibility, the palazzo jean shape is highly valued. They can be made from both stretch and rigid fabrics and are available in a range of colors, including white, and washes, including light. Their wide, soft, and draped lines enhance and slim the silhouette without feeling constricting.

Palazzo jeans can be paired with a variety of garments and accessories, depending on personal style. Recently, they have been styled with snug t-shirts, creating a contrast in proportions that highlights the waistline. Alternatively, they can be worn with crop tops or oversized sweaters for a more contemporary look. In colder months, very short jackets or long coats are ideal for showcasing these pants; there’s no in-between.

When it comes to footwear, palazzo jeans are often long enough to almost entirely cover shoes. However, there are also styles with slightly shorter hems that can be worn with loafers or other flat shoes. Classic sneakers are always a perfect choice for a sporty look, while heels or sandals add an elegant touch. Finally, the wide-leg design allows easy pairing with boots or ankle boots worn underneath the jeans.

Design your own made-to-measure palazzo jeans!

The Simona palazzo jeans represent our latest women’s fit, launched in our micro-factory, Candiani Custom. Here, we create made-to-measure garments tailored to your needs, enhancing your style and body type. You can design your jeans by selecting the fabric, color, wash, hem length, hardware, thread, and any customizations, such as embroidering your initials or adding a drawing to the back patch.

With our extensive experience in denim manufacturing, we place great importance on fabric quality, the key component of jeans. For the new Simona palazzo jeans, we offer a collection of rigid, selvedge, and stretch denim, so you can highlight the characteristics you prefer.

Soft Core stretch denim

If you’re looking for comfort in your jeans, our new Soft Core fabric is the perfect choice! This comfort-stretch denim is designed to offer ease of movement and a soft, skin-friendly feel.

Our Soft Core collection enhances these benefits with a unique blend of materials. It features our regenerative Blue Seed cotton and an exclusive version of LYCRA® EcoMade, setting a new standard for comfort.

Blue Seed cotton is a hybrid, non-GMO variety developed in partnership with Gowan Seed Company, for which we have exclusive access. It combines high-quality, extra-long staple cotton with resilient Upland cotton in a process known as heterosis or hybrid vigor. This results in plants with superior characteristics to the simple sum of their parent varieties. Our regenerative Blue Seed cotton is certified by regenagri®, ensuring the use of practices that restore soil health and maintain ecosystem balance.

LYCRA® EcoMade is made from bio-based, renewable materials and recycled plastics. This component ensures our Soft Core fabrics deliver enduring comfort, an exceptional fit, and excellent shape retention, helping prevent the jeans from wearing out quickly.

Rigid denim

Don’t be intimidated by the term “rigid!” In the denim industry, this adjective refers to fabrics that do not contain stretch fibers, typically made from 100% cotton. However, cotton has a natural light elasticity, providing the comfort we associate with jeans.

Denim originated as a fabric made entirely of cotton, and for the first century of its existence, jeans were exclusively rigid. These fabrics are known for their durability and comfort, and thanks to our high-quality cotton, they also have a soft feel.

You can opt for raw denim if you want to maintain the most authentic look and rich, deep color. Raw jeans fade with wear, losing the top layer of dye in different areas based on how the wearer uses them, resulting in a unique garment. This is why raw denim should be washed at home as infrequently as possible. It’s best to avoid the washing machine; instead, hand-wash it gently with cold or lukewarm water.

Alternatively, you can choose one of our washed options, which simulate this natural wear-and-tear process and achieve the aesthetics we are accustomed to today. These treatments also make the denim softer from the start.

Selvedge denim

Selvedge denim is now quite rare, as it is woven on shuttle looms—traditional machines that were standard in the industry before mass production took over after World War II. During this time, shuttle looms were largely replaced by more efficient full-width looms that produced larger volumes of fabric more quickly and uniformly.

We take pride in preserving the tradition of selvedge denim, the most authentic type of this fabric. Our denim is crafted on vintage shuttle looms, which create the characteristic selvedge—a different colored edge that originally prevented the fabric from fraying. The most common selvedge features a white band with red stitching, but today you can find a wide variety of colors and constructions.

Selvedge denim is perfect for those who wish to celebrate the rich history of this fabric, reminiscent of the first blue jeans worn by workers seeking fortune during the California Gold Rush. Today, selvedge denim also embodies a sartorial approach to weaving, symbolizing craftsmanship and expert, careful production—distinct from standardized and rapid mass manufacturing.

Our recommendation for selvedge jeans is to choose them in their raw form to enhance denim authenticity. This choice sets them apart from the conventional jeans we are used to and ensures that your look boasts unmatched uniqueness. The selvedge on our pants is visible on the watch pocket and one of the back pockets. You can also wear them with high cuffs to showcase the selvedge inseam.
