Our fall-winter 2026-2027 denim fabric collection celebrates its rich heritage while embracing sustainable innovation. Crafted with care, each piece reflects Candiani’s commitment to creating a brighter future for both people and the planet, all while honoring Italy’s renowned textile traditions.

Re-Cyclone

The first part of our collection highlights recycled denim made from post-industrial and post-consumer fibers. As part of our Re-Cyclone initiative, we focus on reducing the need for new raw materials and cutting down on textile waste without compromising the high quality you expect from Candiani. We’re dedicated to transparency and have set specific goals to guide our progress, including measuring the environmental impact, ensuring traceability, and maintaining top-notch quality. Our recycled denim offerings come in three categories:

100% post-industrial recycled denim

The 100% post-industrial collection was launched during the 2025 Design Week in Milan as a limited edition in collaboration with Unotre. Post-industrial recycled cotton is derived from the inevitable waste generated during the manufacturing process. Unlike post-consumer recycled cotton, which can be weaker due to wear and tear, we can produce new denim fabrics using exclusively post-industrial recycled content. This collection features authentic styles with 90s-inspired salt-and-pepper effects and medium-dark indigo shades with a red cast. Unique finishing techniques, including foaming applications, enhance color saturation and create timeless aesthetics. Additionally, the sizing compound used on all fabrics is vegetable-based, making it biodegradable and non-toxic.

Post-industrial recycled denim

This line of denim fabric blends post-industrial recycled materials with regenerative cotton. It provides a new perspective on our most beloved fabric—a high-quality, ring-spun material that enhances the authentic character of denim. This innovative recycled blend represents a significant step towards transitioning our cherished fabrics to circular fashion models, aligning with the new EU regulations that promote the increased use of recycled materials.

Post-consumer recycled denim

The Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) program was developed in partnership with Humana People to People Italia and Filatura Astro to collect and recycle used jeans to create new denim fabrics. This initiative aims to achieve four key performance indicators (KPIs):

The Rebel

The second collection celebrates the timeless appeal of traditional vintage denim, drawing inspiration from the rich heritage of the most iconic jeans ever created: Levi’s® 501®. This is the essence behind the name “The Rebel.” We aim to honor a time when jeans held real significance, worn by younger generations to express their ideas freely and inspire progress.

The Rebel collection features medium to heavyweight denim fabrics, with weights of up to 14.5 oz. Each piece is carefully crafted from high-quality cotton, ensuring exceptional consistency and durability. These fabrics are designed for essential, stylish jeans that never go out of fashion.

Additionally, this denim collection incorporates our sustainable innovations. Notably, it utilizes our patented Kitotex® sizing technology, which replaces conventional plastic-based polymer PVA with an eco-friendly, bio-based polymer called chitosan sourced from renewable materials.

The Rugged

Finally, we have refined one of our historic selvedge denim fabrics. We have called it “The Rugged” to honor denim’s origins as durable workwear. For the first time, we are introducing it in a unique medium-dark indigo shade with a distinct green cast. This color enhances the authentic and timeless aesthetic of denim while showcasing the fabric’s beauty as it ages through an appealing fading process.

Selvedge denim represents our dedication to preserving tradition. While this type of fabric is now rare in the industry, denim was originally produced on shuttle looms, which were largely replaced by more efficient full-width looms during the skyrocketing demand for jeans in the 1960s. However, shuttle looms create the unique edge—a “self-edge”—that many denim enthusiasts particularly cherish and prevent the fabric from fraying.

Finally, The Rugged combines this rich heritage with sustainability. It is made using our patented Kitotex® technology and is entirely crafted from regenerative cotton, which aims to improve soil health.
